Official park resources
- • Stay on thermal boardwalks; thin crust can conceal boiling water. Never swim in thermal features.
- • Stay at least 100 yards from bears and wolves, and 25 yards from other wildlife. Carry accessible bear spray and know how to use it.
- • Roads, trails and visitor facilities close seasonally. Check NPS conditions and bear-management restrictions before each outing.
- • Trail time excludes driving, eruption waits and vehicle shuttles. Yellowstone is large; add substantial travel time between regions.
- • Backcountry overnight stays need permits. Developed campgrounds and lodges have separate reservations.
- • Pebble Creek has a published flood-recovery closure; Norris campground status must be checked. Map inclusion is not a promise of availability.
- • Photos credited to NPS or Wikimedia; places without a verified photo show none.
